Wood!KA concept

Wood!KA is first 3rd generation bio refinery concept
using fibre based side streams
(excluding raw materials used in the production of food or feed).

For producing modified bio materials
Cellulose,
Hemicellulose,
Lignin and Extracts
like turpentine, pine oil, resin etc.

Wood!KA Bioproducts

Target

The concept was developed to meet the
requirements of a modern biorefinery concept
and to support fiber-based fossil-free business.

Why we do it

Renovate the biorefinery and pulp mill
concepts and at the same time modify
the selection of raw materials and end
products to be better suited for bioprocessing.

Bio farm

Modern "bio farm" borrows the
idea of small dairy farms, from
which milk is collected for
further processing in dairies.

The Wood!KA concept is being
developed in the implementation
of a modular unit, which enables
the units to be placed freely.

As an example, several units can
be placed within a 100-kilometer
circle, from which different bio
components are collected for
further processing.

Just like on dairy farms!

Modular units can also be
equipped with further distribution
units and can be modified and
expanded according to production
and final product.

Free adaptability reduces the risk
of the capital committed to the
investment and support reforesting
by using local side streams.

Raw material

Raw material is used whole with
examples bark, branches etc.,
which means that, for example,
debarking line is not needed.
Independence from the raw material
gives a significant competitive
advantage compared to, for example,
modern pulp mills and biorefineries
and enables a better placement
of facilities.

Technology

Based on the recent raw material
test results, the results has been
used to modify first pilot device
technology concept
and requirements.

Target is clear requirements
for pilot facility on the
end of next year
